Update

This post isn't really necessary, seeing as not a soul has visited my blog since I made my first post a few hours ago, but, I'm making it anyway.

SC2 has been successfully installed.
I'll be posting an update about my first day with the game tomorrow afternoon.

Intro

If you didn't gather it from the title, this will be a blog about my journey though SC2's ladder.

I have never played SC2 outside of doing the three campaign levels available in the demo.  That said, I have been following the going-on's of the SC community for over a month now.  I watch a lot of Day[9], live streams of various pros, and have watched a couple of tournaments.

Going in, I plan on playing Zerg: I like the play style, and am looking forward to testing it out against the computer once SC2 finishes installing (I'm digi-downloading as I type this).

I've been giving what build I work with a lot of thought, and I am planning on going Mutas in my starting games.  Why?  I feel that against other new players, air units are the way to go.

-New players will not be great at scouting, and surprise Muta harrass on the mineral line could be game breaking.
-New players will be slow at reacting.  It will take them too long to pull SCVs off a mineral line, and too long for them to get units that can shoot air to the line.  I plan on taking advantage of this.
-New players hopefully wont think to put up Missile Turrets and the like until AFTER they have seen air units.  Going along with my theory of being bad at scouting, I think Mutas will catch them with their pants down.
-With that in mind, I'm a new player and will also be weak against air units.  Mutas will be my anti air.

Well, that is my brief introduction.  I'll be posting more soon.
